Free stuff: Fonts and photos from Veer!

October 28, 2009

Like every design student, I am constantly looking for new font sources (free ones, in particular). I recently joined the Veer Student Program and received some really helpful freebies and wanted to share this opportunity with everyone! For those of you who are unfamiliar, Veer is an awesome font source, stock photo and illustration company (they also have some cool graphic designery merch, like this rad KERN hoodie). Students enrolled full time in an accredited design or fine arts program are eligible to join the Student Program. I received eight fonts and about 20 high-res images. From Veer: “Students receive 50% off images and 30% off type when these elements are purchased through the Veer web site. Students also receive Veer catalogs and inspirational print materials, which they can sign up for in their account preferences.” You can use all of the free fonts and photos for non-commercial use, so it is perfect for your school assignments. The company also offers periodic scholarship opportunities and a summer internship to one student at their office in Los Angeles.
Click here to learn how you can join and get your free fonts and images. It’s really easy!
1. Set up a free Veer account
2. Fax Veer a copy of your current class schedule and a copy of your library card (student ID), along with your account info
3. If approved, your account will be flagged as “Student” and you can access the free fonts when you log into the Veer website!
I encourage you to sign up! It’s so easy and you get some sweet fonts out of it. Hope you enjoy!
