Want to know what it’s like to work in the animation industry? Want to rub elbows with people who work at Disney, Dreamworks, and Blizzard? Then keep reading.
This year I was fortunate to attend SIGGRAPH for the second year in a row. And like last year it didn’t disappoint. For those of you wondering, SIGGRAPH is one of the largest animation conventions on the planet. You can find companies like Pixar, Dreamworks, and Blue Sky there side by side with companies like Insomniac Games, Blizzard, and Sony. And in an industry where networking is key, this is a great way to make connections and meet new people. Now the convention itself is fairly expensive but as a college student you can sign up for the student volunteer or SV program. The program grants you a general pass to the conference! You can check out more details at SIGGRAPH 2010. If you are serious about animation, and I know you are, then SIGGRAPH is where you want to be. You won’t regret it. Have fun, and keep creating!
