WACOMANIA!

November 9, 2009

So you say old school art is your bag? You love spending hours doodling in your moleskine or other appropriately cherished artist pad. Or maybe you find happiness when you’re painting a canvas. How do you feel about using a WACOM?
*crickets*
It’s okay, don’t freak out. Most traditional artist, nowadays, have made the move to digital. And it can be just as rewarding to draw and paint with a WACOM as it is to draw and paint on paper and canvas. If you want to remain competitive in the entertainment industry, then you’ll need to get pretty familiar with programs like Photoshop and Painter. Take a look as some of the wicked talented folks over at ConceptArt.org.  Now I know what you’re thinking. You’re a student and WACOM tablets are crazy expensive. If you’re not that picky, you can easily get a used one for a great price; however, if you’re a student, check out JourneyEd.com for amazing prices on a number of different products. Mastering the art of digital drawing/painting is challenging, but the rewards far outweigh the costs. Just keep at it. Have fun, and keep creating!
