The NMPA (New Mexico Post Alliance)
Man check out this article that was forwarded to me from our Albuquerque campus. Makes me want to move to New Mexico.

Over the years there have been numerous discussions around the need for an Industry Association that protects, promotes and advances the Post Production sector in the state. For the past number of months a small group of us have been busy setting that ball in motion, and have formally created the NM Post Alliance.
We have a series of things that we would like to discuss with the community and potential members, which include our general agenda, member benefits, legislative concerns, and upcoming events.
The NMPA is a fee-based non-profit Trade Association serving a New Mexico-based community of businesses and individuals who provide expertise, support, tools and the infrastructure for the creation and finishing of motion pictures, television, commercials, digital media, games, and other dynamic media content.
The purpose of the organization is to develop, promote and advance the post-production industry in the state of New Mexico. To this end, the NMPA will actively engage to:
a. Facilitate marketing the New Mexico Post Production Industry
b. Become the post-production industry’s advocate and speak with the power of the “larger voice” of the entire industry on common issues and topics such as government affairs, local community / business issues and technology.
c. Facilitate information exchange on issues that relate to business, technology, skills training and industry education.
d. Provide a forum for the networking of colleagues and peers who have dedicated their careers to post production, with a goal of representing a large and diverse community of interests and experience.
e. Provide a dynamic platform for: industry events, seminars, e-mail exchange, web based information outlets, and professional special interest groups dedicated to specific skills and areas of expertise.
While generating an interactive forum for professional networking and the sharing of pertinent information for the overall development and implementation of industrial skills and contacts, strategically the organization intends to create a common voice that can represent the post-production industry, and can contribute to the protection and growth of Post as a vital and vibrant member of the New Mexico Media Industries.
This is so exciting!
