2010 Tucson ADDY Awards

February 26, 2010

Two Golds and a Silver

Amongst the 2010 ADDY Award Winners here in Tucson, a total of three awards were for Animation projects produced at The Art Center Design College. Eva Alcazar, Luke Ralston, and Todd Winkles all submitted award winning work.
The 29th Annual ADDY® Awards was held on February 20, 2010 at The Westin La Paloma honoring local advertising professionals, leaders, and future leaders. Well-respected and recognized in the local advertising industry, these prestigious accolades salute our industry’s best and brightest. Here is a list of the Art Center Animation projects and the awards each student won:
Eva Alcazar won a Student Gold ADDY® for Child Soldiers
Produced in the style of a History Channel promotion, Eva created a somber and chilling Motion Graphics animation describing the challenging topic of young children taken from their families and pressed into service for purposes of war.
Luke Ralston won a Student Gold ADDY® for Wrecked
In this humorous and off-the-wall short, Luke created a 2D animated story of a man cut down by a sudden car accident followed by a hilariously absurd if somewhat tragic case of denial and eventual acceptance.
Todd Winkels won a Student Silver ADDY® for Loss of Face
Using a variety of 2D Animation techniques coupled with unique sources of audio Todd created a mysterious and abstract depiction of voices, faces, and thoughts lost in time.
Shown at the link below is a comprehensive listing of winners for the 2010 ADDY® Awards. Images for Gold ADDY award winners are viewable from links in the Entry column. The Tucson Advertising Federation and The Art Center Design College congratulate all the winners!
